Chocolate brownie
yields about 12 to 16 slices
200g - 1 cup chocolate (roughly chopped)
175g - 0.6 cup unsalted butter
325g - 1.6 cups sugar
130g - 1 cup flour
3 eggs
50g - 0.5 cup walnuts (roughly chopped)
Preheat oven to 170°C - 325°F - Gas Mark 3
Place the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Be careful not to let the base of the bowl touch the water.
Heat until melted and smooth.
Remove from the heat and add the sugar.
Mix until well incorporated.
Add the flour and mix until well incorporated.
Add the eggs and mix until thick and smooth.
Fold in the walnuts carefully.
Pour the batter into a buttered and dusted cake tin.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
